A Teacher’s Guide to Neuromuscular Disease
This booklet offers information and support to teachers of students with a neuromuscular disease. It will provide a better understanding of the challenges faced by children and adolescents affected by neuromuscular conditions, including muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. The guide suggests general strategies to enhance a student’s school experience both academically and socially, and it addresses school issues that may arise throughout K-12 education.
